How to Troubleshoot a Napoleon Fireplace Remote Control
If you have a standard Napoleon fireplace remote control and you can't get it to work with your fireplace watch our video below or use these simple troubleshooting steps to get it working again.
Step By Step Guide
1. Locate the Receiver Box
Most often your receiver box will be located within the controls cavity of your fireplace like it is here - check to make sure the wires are secured tight to the terminals. If your fireplace is working properly and your receiver box is in working condition you should be able to slide the slider switch on the receiver box to the "On" position and your fireplace should turn on. If it doesn't, you may need to have your fireplace serviced by a technician.
2. Check/Remove the Batteries
The remote control transmitter and receiver box are both battery-powered - check the batteries in your units to make sure they have a good charge and there isn't any damage from corrosion. Remove the batteries from both the remote transmitter and receiver box.
3. Slide the switch to "OFF"
After you've removed the batteries from both units, move the receiver switch to the "Off" position.
4. Replace the Batteries
Next, replace the batteries back into the remote control, then back into the receiver box.
5. Slide the Switch to "Remote"
After replacing the batteries in each unit, slide the receiver switch back to the "remote" position. If working properly, at this point the light on the receiver box will blink and beep twice.
6. Sync with the Remote
Immediately following the beeps - press the "On" button on your remote control and hold it down for 1-2 seconds. This should produce 3 beeps from the receiver box to confirm it has captured the code from the remote control.
